Vermicelli Upma Recipe

Vermicelli Upma

Vermicelli upma recipe is a savoury dish.  Upma is very easy and an absolutely delicious healthy recipe for everyday breakfast and children tiffin.

 

What we need 

1 ½ cup vermicelli
1 tablespoon olive oil or any cooking oil
½ teaspoon mustard seed
1 tablespoon split black lentil
2 finely chopped green chilli
1/ 2 cup green pea
½ cup finely chopped carrot
1 small finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt as per taste

How to make

Heat a non-stick pan when the pan is hot add vermicelli and dry roast until vermicelli turns brown.
Remove from pan Keep aside.

Heat oil in wok/pan then add black lentil and mustard seeds and sauté until mustard let them splutter.

Then add turmeric stir and add chopped onion, and green chilli, sauté until onion gets translucent.

Now add carrot, peas and sauté for 2 minutes then add ¼ cup water add salt stir and mix well add vermicelli cover with the lid and cook on low flame then add lemon juice and mix well. garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
