Pinwheel samosa recipe

Pinwheel samosa recipe is a great party appetizer. This is a very interesting twist to make popular Indian samosa. You can deep fry or bake. I have made in the air fryer. You can bake in the oven or deep fry. Pinwheel samosa is great finger food and good for a party starter.

What we need for Pinwheel samosa

3 boiled potato

½ teaspoon cumin powder

3-4 finely chopped green chilli

1 tablespoon dry mango powder

2 tablespoon chopped coriander chopped

 For Dough

1 ½ cup all-purpose flour (Maida)

¼ teaspoon instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

½ cup hot water

¼ cup butter

1 tablespoon semolina (sooji)

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon caraway seeds

Salt to taste

Take a big bowl mix all the ingredient knead a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and set it aside for 1 hour.

 For Stuffing

In a large mixing bowl roughly mash the potato add all other ingredients for filling and mix well. Divide into two part and keep aside.

Making Pinwheel roll

Dived the dough into 2 equal part.

Shape one part into smooth ball and roll into rectangle spread the filling evenly over the rolled dough.

Start rolling sheet gently but tightly until you have log apply some water to seal the end .and roll gently 5-6 time.  Repeat the same prosses with other dough.

Preheat oven at 200 degrees.

Unwrap and slice the log into ½ inch thick press each circle lightly. Wrap the roll in a plastic sheet and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Arrange pinwheel into a baking tray bake them 15 minutes or until golden brown. Turn them after 5 minutes while cooking.

I have used an air fryer. If you are using air fryer then bake them at 200 for 10 minutes no need to turn on halfway through the cooking time.

Deep frying Method:

Mix 3 tablespoon flour into ¼ cup water make a smooth batter. Heat oil into the frying pan over medium heat. Dip pinwheel in the batter one at a  time and fry until both sides become golden brown. Serve with green chutney.
