Black chana Kadhi

Black chana/black chickpea is also known as desi chana in India.Chickpeas/black Chana is low in fat high in dietary fiber.Black chana curry is very easy and tasty recipe.

WhatWe Need

½ cup Kala chana soaked 6-7 hour or overnight
2 tablespoon Besan/gram flour
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon minced ginger garlic (optional)
2 green chilli slit in lengthwise
½ garam masala powder
½ teaspoon mustard seed
6-7 curry leaves
1 pinch asafoetida
½ teaspoon fenugreek seeds/methi dana
2 teaspoon oil or ghee
Salt to taste

How to make

First, boil chana with salt and water until chana is fully cooked and soft.
In a large bowl combine add curd, besan, red chilli powder and turmeric powder, coriander powder add water from chana mix well. Make sure there is no lump.
Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida. Methi mustard seed and curry leaves, green chilli sauté for 1 minute.
Now add curd mixture and cook on medium heat bring to boil stir in between.
Add boiled chana with water and cook on low heat about 30- 40 minutes until curry become thick.
Garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot with roti or rice

Tips-

Clean and wash chana in running water.add enough hot water cover and keep for 1 hour.
