Sabudana Khichdi (Indian style sago pearl )

Sabudana is also known as sago or tapioca . it is made from the palm tree stem . sago is rich in carbohydrates but it is low in fat and protein because of carbohydrate it is great energy booster . it can be use in many  sweet and savory dishes. In India sabudana khichdi is usually cook in fasting days. It is good for  breakfast easy to make .to know more about how  sago grow you can read here.

what we need-

2 cup Sabudana
3/4 cup peanuts
8-10 green chilli (finely chopped)
4 tbsp. ghee or oil
1 potato chopped in small cube
1 lemon
1/2 tomato chopped in cube
1 tsp. cumin seed
salt to taste
fresh coriander

How to make

Wash Sabudana in colander under running water and soak in water over night or 3-4 hours. Drain and keep aside for 1 hour each grain should be separate.


Roast peanut in a pan and cool it ,make a coarse powder in a dry grinder.
Heat oil in a pan add cumin seed when they get brown add chopped potato fry till potato become brown add green chilli saute for 1-2 minute now add sago and salt keep on stirring add ground peanut mix well and cover for five-minute and cook on a slow flame.

Add tomato and lemon juice mix well cook till sago pearl become translucent  .Add chopped coriander and serve hot.
