Falafel

Falafel Salad

Falafel is one of my favourite  Middle Eastern dishes. I like to  use it  on a roll , with pitta bread or with salad .

What we need

½ cup dried chickpea (Kabuli chana)

2 clove garlic

2 Tbsp. coriander leave

2 slice white bread

4-6 Green chilli

½ onion chopped

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

For salad

50gm.Mix salad leave thinly sliced

1 small Onion diced

2 Tomato diced

1 small cucumber diced

For dip

4 tbsp. curd

1 tbsp. grated cucumber

Salt and pepper

How to make

Clean and soak chickpeas for 5-6 hour or overnight, then wash and drain. In a mixer grind chickpeas along with garlic, green chilli, coriander leave and salt to make a coarse paste. Add bread, onion and flour; then, run the mixer again until it is mixed.

Transfer the mixture to the bowl, cover and keep in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Take a small portion of the mixture and make a small ball and press slightly to flatten.

Heat oil in a pan, fry falafel on medium heat  until golden brown. Serve hot with dip and salad.

To make dip take a bowl, add curd, cucumber and salt and pepper and mix well.

Combine all salad ingredients together arrange salad mixture on a serving platter then place falafel drizzle with curd dip.

Note:

If you can’t make ball add 1 tbsp. Flour or breadcrumb and mix. While frying, place one by one. First, fry one falafel and check whether it sustains its shape.
